Come One, Come All

For some reason lately I've been slightly obsessed with circus inspired design. Actually, I'm pretty sure it started with a company called Meri Meri and their charming circus-themed party decor. So damn cute.

With a quick google search I found a ton of amazing invitations from Oh So Beautiful Paper, which is an amazing site! The colors are what I think hooks me. I'm all for browns, creams, and naturals in general, but I've always wanted a little more color. It could be a dash of apple green, teal, bright yellow, etc. As long as there is color I'm happy. But considering that these designs seem to combine muted colors and vibrance somehow I think I'll stay in love for a while.

If I ever have kids I may consider this for them... If I haven't used it for an office by then....

What are your favorite inspirations lately?

Update

Small news: I want to learn how to design my blog with all the features I'd like, instead of trying to learn via Blogger. I got on Dreamweaver and looked up a tutorial for making a website. It's great!... If you aren't trying to make a blog haha. So far I've changed my header, but hopefully soon more will be to come...

Kate Spade

For my advertising class last semester I did a brand profile over Kate Spade. I originally started out the project liking her. I now LOVE her brand. I know I've talked about loving her before (as seen here), but it is a fact.

This project below was the book I made for the project. It's probably one of my favorite things I've ever worked on/produced. I ended up using a lot of photography to show her style, advertising, and campaigns.

Given that I only used the computer I think it turned out really, super well! Especially since the computer hasn't seemed to be as successful as I wanted it to be in the past on basically anything. Somehow I seem to do better with photography and illustration than just making things on the computer.

New Year, New Attitude

I'm not really a fan of making New Year resolutions...

I've found over time that I cannot do things on a schedule unless it's super important because I have to do something immediately, including {especially} waking up. So, because of this there are not things I want to try to make myself do because of the new year.

I already have plans to work out during the spring semester (for some reason I can never come to do it in the fall). I've made a budget, planned my paychecks and work schedule. I've even cleaned out and organized a lot of my stuff in my apartment. None of these things are considered good enough to be a New Year resolution.

This year I want to try to love like Oklahoma. Really, I hate it. The last few years however have seemed to put a better spin on the city, but I still know if I really tried I could find more reasons to like it.

Hopefully it will help that I work at an awesome local business, and bought a Keep It Local card finally! We'll see how this goes, but it's gonna take some convincing.

What are your favorite things about the city you live in? It might inspire me about OKC!
